Experience the Romance of Pacific Grove

The Pacific Grove Inn is a Historic Boutique Inn, that provides charming accommodations with the intimacy of a bed and breakfast.  Built in 1904 and 1908 by Sea Captain Frank LaVerne Buck and Apothecary Joseph Tuttle, these two establishments were remarkably sophisticated for their time and place in Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

With only 16 hotel rooms and suites, Pacific Grove Inn blends an old world charm with modern day luxury including combinations of fireplaces, private porches, balconies and entrance with views of the Monterey Bay.

A sanctuary of tranquility and charm awaken your senses with a gourmet breakfast, unwind in the evening with our daily wine, tea and cheese reception from 4pm to 5pm, and take pleasure in our freshly baked cookies to nibble and cold milk before turning in for the evening.

The Pacific Grove Inn is a pet friendly establishment with a limited number of Pet Friendly Rooms.  Please call us directly to reserve your room if you intend on traveling with your pet.  We offer numerous specials, promotions and discounted rates for Seniors, AAA Members and Government Employees.  Please view our Special Offers page to see more of these rates.

Pacific Grove evokes a timeless air feel from its historic establishments and its classic Main Street, USA feel to its breathtaking slices of nature with its remarkable attractions in and around the Monterey area of California.

Things to Do

Just moments away, experience the Monterey Bay Aquarium which offers visitors nearly 200 award-winning galleries and exhibits and holds 35,000 plants and animals representing 623 species. Cannery Row and Fisherman’s Wharf offers visitor's unique attractions, restaurants, convenient shopping and an exciting nightlife.  Enjoy walking through downtown Pacific Grove and shop at the many boutiques and stores that occupy the town's historic buildings and wander out to the American Tin Outlets, home of the first outlet mall in California.

Only minutes from the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Resort prominent for its storied past and oceanfront setting, once again Pebble Beach will host the U.S. Open for the 5th time in 2010.  Also for golf lovers is the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links, ranked as one of America’s best golf courses by the Zagat Survey and offers low green fees and sweeping views of Monterey Bay.

Pacific Grove also has a thoroughly modern focus on green elements like nature and sustainability. Its beaches, located right on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, are perfect spots for kayaking or surfing — and some of the fish you see on the Bay may turn up in your sustainable seafood dinner that night. Pacific Grove's status as one of the top Monarch butterfly wintering-over spots has procured it the nickname of "Butterfly Town, USA."

Beaches

Both wheelchair accessible Asilomar State Beach and Lovers Point Beach offer reliable surfing and beautiful kayaking. Cyclists and pedestrians enjoy the coastal views along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail. Create your own championship moments with our exceptional services and amenities.

Museums

The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History gives children and adults insight into the ever-evolving story of the Monterey Peninsula, with both human artifacts and exhibits on the flora and fauna of the area.
Visitors can also learn what life was like when Pacific Grove was remote and wild by visiting the Point Pinos Lighthouse, the oldest continually operating lighthouse on the West Coast. This lighthouse sits on the northernmost tip of the Monterey Bay Peninsula; its beacon has flashed nightly as a guide and warning to ships off the rocky California coast since February 1, 1855.

Monarch Butterflies

If you're fortunate enough to be in Pacific Grove during the fall or winter, you will be witness to one of nature's most incredible spectacles: the annual migration of the Monarch butterflies. Tens of thousands of Monarchs descend on Pacific Grove in October, and take up residence in the pines and eucalyptus trees of the Monarch Grove Butterfly Sanctuary.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

For all motorcycle, grand prix and AMA super bike racing fans, the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a 2.238 mile world renowned race track and just 20 minutes from the Pacific Grove Inn.
